Lebanese University Campus Hadath
A Mediterranean city

Project description

The Lebanese University campus in Hadath is the main public higher education hub in the nation. The masterplan is composed of 13 faculties and can accommodate up to 30,000 students. It also includes dormitories (2,500 beds), a conference center, a library, a sports complex, and 250,000m2 of landscaped areas.

The brief

The Lebanese University aimed to achieve three objectives:

  • Centralizing all Lebanese University faculties in one campus
  • Addressing and consolidating the programmatic needs of the different faculties
  • Creating a reference campus for public higher education in Lebanon

Our response

  • Developing an extensive programmatic strategy that was based on close collaboration with stakeholders and qualitative/quantitative data generation
  • Designing an educational masterplan centered on the existing Faculty of Sciences and providing abundant amenities and landscaped areas to students while accommodating programmatic requirements
  • Developing a wider public and private accessibility strategy that would enable students from any Lebanese region to reach the campus efficiently
