Doha Hills
A getaway overlooking Beirut
Project description
The Doha Hills project was the largest private housing development undertaken in Lebanon at the time of completion. It is composed of 32 residential buildings hosting close to 500 apartments and located in Doha, at a 30-minute ride from Beirut.
The brief
UIG aimed to achieve two objectives:
- Designing one of the first gated communities in Lebanon
- Taking advantage of the prime site location in order to provide a unique living experience for residents
Our response
- Developing a masterplan that included different programmatic uses (country club, retail, coffeeshops) to create a self-sustaining community
- Adopting an urban design scheme that benefited from the sloped site to provide residents with optimized sea views
- Designing power, water and telecom infrastructure to make sure that the development needs are continuously met irrespective of level of service at municipal level
