Project description
Anchored at the northern tip of the Red Sea, the Saraya Aqaba Resort is a mixed-use hospitality development featuring a unique mix of residences, hotels, and entertainment facilities. The Resort combines the charm of an old Arab city with the modern refinement of a world-class tourism destination.
The brief
Saudi Oger aimed to achieve three objectives:
- Designing an attractive destination in Aqaba
- Integrating diverse and substantial programmatic functions into a coherent masterplan
- Creating artificial landscapes to significantly enhance the user experience
Our response
- Designing a masterplan that accommodate different land uses and products covering a wide range of price points
- Creating neighborhoods with different architectural characters that reflect the diverse uses of the development (luxury villas, regular villas, service apartments, hotels, bungalows, …)
- Engineering an artificial lagoon protected by 1.5km man-made breakwater
- Ensuring that the infrastructure serving the development was aligned with the standards adopted in world class resorts
- Integrating unique entertainment features like the Wild Wadi Aqaba waterpark
