Three Estate
Residences overlooking Beirut’s only golf course
Project description
Three stone slabs emerge from the ground to create a residential building in a gesture of archeological simplicity. These monolithic walls house the private quarters of each apartment protecting them from the noise, weather, and lack of privacy in Beirut’s increasingly urban context. Conversely, the large slits between the walls open up the main living spaces to the light, wind and view of Beirut’s only golf course.
The building is divided into two blocks, collectively having four apartments on each floor in a configuration that places the living spaces on all four corners of the building. In the center of the plan is a large opening to the sky that allows all service spaces such as kitchens and bathrooms to have natural light and ventilation. Retail spaces are located on the ground floor and continue downwards to the first basement. The top floor sets back three meters to create unique apartments with terrace open to the sky.
